When I first began working with Texas Select, I built their website and we launched it live as fast as possible with the minimum viable product we had. There was no real SEO strategy in the beginning. We were sending it paid traffic via Facebook and Google Ads initially and that was getting us leads, but this was expensive. We were paying for every single lead coming in from Facebook and Google which was about $40-50 each lead. While the owner didn't express any concerns about the lead costs, I recognized the potential to significantly benefit the business by investing efforts into website improvements and implementing a robust SEO strategy. If we could somehow get our website seen organically, it would not only drive lead generation but also substantially reduce our overall cost of acquisition.
I determined the best approach was to create a landing page for every city in their service area, big or small. We might not be able to rank high for "Dallas Fence Company", but we can definitely rank for the searches: "Plano Fence Company" or "Allen Fence Company". I researched competitors to see if there was a real opportunity here, and sure enough, there were only 3-5 fence companies doing this for every city. The door was wide open for us to grab some of that golden digital real estate. In mid December 2022, I began creating pages and published them to the website. In about a week, we started showing up. When I noticed Google had indexed one of the landing pages and we were ranking organically for "Allen Fence Company", I took a screenshot, I was surprised at how quick this happened.
We went from getting maybe 3 organic site visitors a day to 15+ by February.
This SEO strategy was a huge homerun, bringing our average cost per lead down to $20 per lead, a 50% decrease from before. As of today, one third of all leads that come in are organic. This is nearly 60 free leads each month that are qualified and usually better than what Google or Facebook would send you.
If you are a fence business owner and you would like me to setup something similar for your business, book a call or shoot me an email ([email protected]), I would love the opportunity to work with you.
